A scattered hotel in the village of Sesta Godano, in the heart of the Vara Valley.
Just a few kilometers from the Cinque Terre, yet far from the beaten track of mass tourism, the valley has retained its character over time: small villages, nature still dominating, trails, silence, and a daily life that hasn't changed to adapt to tourism.
La Magnolia's houses are ancient sixteenth-century dwellings scattered throughout the historic center, among stone arches, alleys and shaded courtyards.
The name comes from the large magnolia that grows next to the main house, in a small, intimate and quiet internal garden—a simple space that seems separate from the rest of the village and naturally invites you to linger.
La Magnolia welcomes travelers, residents, scholars, and groups through stays, meetings, seminars, and cultural activities related to the area.

Lunigiana
Bordering Liguria and Tuscany, Lunigiana is a historic region rich in castles, medieval villages, ancient parish churches, and rural traditions passed down through time. Crossed by the Via Francigena and shaped by the waterways flowing from the Apennines to the sea, it still retains an authentic and genuine character. Its gastronomic culture embodies the identity of a region that has maintained a strong connection to its roots.
Val di Vara
The Vara Valley is the largest valley in Liguria and is located in the hinterland of the province of La Spezia. Crossed by the Vara River, it is known as the "Organic Valley" thanks to its strong presence in sustainable agriculture and high-quality local produce.
The area is characterized by woods, hills, medieval villages, and unspoiled natural landscapes, between the Ligurian Apennines and the proximity of the Cinque Terre.
Sesta Godano
Sesta Godano is a small town in the Vara Valley, nestled in the green Ligurian forests and surrounded by rolling hills. The village retains a peaceful and authentic atmosphere, with vibrant rural traditions and a strong connection to nature. Thanks to its location between the Apennines and the Ligurian coast, it is an ideal base for excursions, trekking, and nature trails, as well as for discovering the valley's traditional cuisine and local products.
